Desperately seeking...

This past Friday, December 10th, I was at Bethesda by the Sea in Palm Beach, shooting Christmas photos with a family.  We took a quick break to regroup and, there in the courtyard, I witnessed a young man drop to one knee, holding the hand of a lovely, and very puzzled young woman.  I began documenting the moment and before I knew it I had captured all the pivotal moments - the introduction of the ring, her expression, the moment she said, "YES!!", and then the tender moments that followed with them just holding one another silently.  I didn't want to interrupt them, so I snapped away and stood quietly aside.  I rejoined the Christmas photoshoot, keeping one eye on the couple so I could approach them before they left the courtyard.  Sadly, I missed their departure and never got to tell them of the timeless photos I had for them.

I'm thankful for the far reaching branches of facebook to assist me in finding this couple.  I've talked to local news and radio affiliates and even posted on the Today Show's page hoping someone would recognize this couple.

My heart overflows when I think of giving them these photographic memories.  It's such a wonderful reminder why I love what I do.  This couple's world stood still for a moment, with one another, as he took her hand and asked her to be his wife.  Memories will fade over time, but they'll always have something to take them back to that place where there was no one else in the world...but him and her.

  6. I hope you can find them!!! This is priceless! That would be one of the most special surprises ever, aside from the proposal itself; to find out someone--a stranger ever--took photos of it!

  13. What a horrible thing to say: "I give them 3 years."
I wish them well and a life time of happiness! How cool that you were able to capture "THE moment", I know they will be so thankful to have these photos later on. (they obviously didn't see you shooting them, or I bet they'd have asked for your info!) I pray you find them!

  16. No date or location? No update after a year? I'd say this is a viral advertising stunt. if this comment doesn't get published, that will confirm it.

  17. Guys, this is a fairly common publicity scam. Joylynne is lying about the back story, and should be ashamed of herself for milking public sentiment like this. This stunt is relatively unknown. Sure, it is harmelss, but it's also fraudulent. Just thought you'd like to know...

  18. I don't know Craig but her face looks legit! Even if this is common, how can you be sure this is fake?

  19. Don't listen to Craig. He works for Joy Lynne's main competition and is filthy liar.

  21. Oh wow, I'm just reading these comments. "Publicity stunt" was a common theme when this photo went public. There was no publicity stunt here. My business didn't benefit from this photograph and that was never the point. If this was a fake, someone would have stepped forward by now and said, "HEY!! I know those two!!" It's puzzling that after all this time, no one has recognized this couple or had any leads. I have literally exhausted every means of trying to locate them. So, for now, I'll just hold onto the photos and hope they find me. For those who are jaded, yes, there are some people in this world who are still honest. I have nothing to gain from this except the satisfaction of giving this couple the photos I took. I'm a hopeless romantic, not a scam artist.

Also, it's worth mentioning - I was contacted by The Today Show, The Evening News with Katie Couric (when it was still on), and other talk shows - but they were only interested in the story if/when I found this couple. If this was truly a publicity stunt (ala the balloon boy hoax), it would have been my motivation to take this to a bigger level and miraculously FIND this couple. They exist in this world, somewhere, but I have no idea who they are.

I appreciate all the encouragement, prayers, and kind comments. I'm still hopeful.
