The KVJ Show

I'm always up for a fun photoshoot and this one was no exception. I had a blast photographing the morning crew from The KVJ Show. I'm just IN LOVE with the colors of our backdrop - it really makes the photos jump off the page. I hope you enjoy them all as much as I do. Cheers!

The Tiniest Treasure - Baby Isla

We were blessed to have the opportunity to photograph the sweetest, tiniest little treasure -- Isla Sumner Christoph! It's always such a joy to watch a story unfold from the earliest chapters. You may remember, we photographed Josh and Sarah's wedding in May 2011 in the Bahamas. Over the years, they have become incredibly dear friends to us and sharing in the celebration of their newborn daughter, a little over a year later, is an indescribable emotion.

Josh's Mom, Barbara was incredibly welcoming (as she always is!) in allowing us to shoot in her home. We were able to incorporate family mementos into some of the shots with Isla -- you'll see books about Man-O-War Cay on the shelf - this is where Josh and Sarah were married; the sash from Sarah's wedding dress; a tiny ring that once belonged to Josh's Mom; French books, letters, and a champagne crate -- highlighting Josh's French heritage; and a birdcage that belonged to Isla's Great-Grandmother.

This little itty bitty one didn't want to miss a moment of the photoshoot and made sure to stay awake through 90% of it. *smile* Once she fell into a milk coma, we were able to get some amazing pictures.

Josh and Sarah, we are happy to know you and delighted to call you friends. You have made the most amazing parents and we can't wait to watch Isla grow up.

Welcome, Merrill Jane Furman

There's a new kid on the block and she's beautiful. The Furman house is full of love, laughter, and that new baby smell. I spent the morning with Merrill, her Mom & Dad, and her big brother, Miles. We managed to sneak her gorgeous Momma and handsome brother into some photos (a lollipop as a bribe can do wonders to capture a 3 year old's attention span for a couple minutes *grin*). Thanks again, Jen, Jesse, and Miles for letting me capture your sweet baby girl's newborn goodness.

Michael & Alida's Wedding - Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Another beautiful South Florida day that didn't disappoint. Michael & Alida were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens. The reception was held at Frenchman's Reserve, which offers so many gorgeous backdrops, there weren't enough hours in the day to photograph them all. This bride and groom had the largest wedding party we had seen so far - 24 bridesmaids and groomsmen (including the flower girls and jr. bridesmaids). A HUGE thank you to everyone involved for their patience and helping us coordinate these amazing shots for Alida & Michael.

The entire day was pretty special. The groom and his men relaxed with a little pre-wedding poker and the bride was surrounded by the couple's three dogs as she slipped on her wedding dress under the watchful and nuturing eye of her Mom. Following the full Catholic ceremony, the newlyweds chose to take the party to the beach where we got some of our favorite shots of the day. Back at Frenchman's Reserve, the band, Soul Survivors, had everyone on their feet dancing before the food was even served. Alida's brother, Will, even sat in with the band for a couple songs and the crowd went wild (as it often does) for a little rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama."

During the traditional father/daughter dance, Alida and her brother, Will, danced to a song she had chosen as a memorial to her father, "I Loved Her First" by Heartland, and the music was accompanied with a photo slideshow of Alida and her Dad. It was incredibly touching and a lovely tribute to the man who had, indeed, loved her first. The night concluded with Alida presenting Michael with a trophy. As she said, "A trophy to the man who has put up with me for so many years. You deserve an award!" Michael graciously accepted the honor but felt as if he had already won a prize, just by having his beautiful bride by his side. I'd say they both came out winners.

Michael & Alida, we had a great time capturing all of your memories. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your day!
